Milan – In the semi-final second leg of the Champions League, between city rivals Inter and Milan, six days after the Black and Blues' first-leg success, a lot of prestige is at stake in addition to reaching the final. Milan, who were also out of form in Serie A at the weekend, will face an in-form arch-rival who are unbeaten in eight competitive games today, Tuesday (16 May, 21:00 CET, Prime Video).

Milan derby in the semi-finals live today: Inter in impressive form
Inter not only remained unbeaten, but were even able to record seven victories in a row, which not only makes it difficult for arch-rivals Milan to reach the final, but also the potential qualification for the coming season in the European Belle Etage. Inter are currently in third place thanks to a 4-2 win over Sassuolo last Saturday (13 May) and have a five-point lead over Milan in fifth place with three games remaining. This only entitles you to participate in the Europa League.
A showpiece of success is the defence, as Inter defender Francesco Acerbi also knows: "We are aware of our strength and ready." The team have conceded just three goals in their last seven competitive games, and were compact and disciplined after taking a quick 2-0 lead in the derby last week.
DFB player Robin Gosens can also hope to play. The 28-year-old played the last 30 minutes of last Saturday's league game after recovering from a shoulder injury – but will be back on the bench behind Federico Dimarco in the Champions League second leg. In general, it can be assumed that Simone Inzaghi will again trust the team from the first leg compared to Serie A, which would mean starting eleven appearances for ex-Bundesliga players Edin Dzeko, Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The situation is different in the red-black part of the city. Milan seem to have lost their form at the moment, as they suffered another defeat at relegation-threatened AC Spezia on Saturday (13 May) after losing to Inter. In a game in which Milan could not establish superiority, Rafael Leao was once again sorely missed. The great hope now lies in the fact that the Portuguese can play again in the second leg with his fast sprints and dribbles. Nevertheless, Milan will have to do without Ismeal Bennacer, who had to leave the field after just 18 minutes last Wednesday and will be missing from Stefano Pioli's team for a long time.
The coach pragmatically summed up the remaining chance for his team's comeback: "Nobody believes that we will make it to the final. But no one believed that we would get this far either. We know we're behind, but we also know we can turn it around."
Should the Rossoneri actually succeed in catching up, they would have the chance to win their eighth European Cup triumph (four European Cups and three Champions League titles so far) in the final in Istanbul.
