Argentina's World Cup win last December in Qatar is back in the headlines, this time apparently out of jealousy, with former Uruguayan national team player Diego Lugano claiming it was a world championship with an asterisk.
According to the former international defender, FIFA helped Argentina win the biggest title of all, directing all the influencers around him to act on behalf of Leo Messi's team - with most of it aimed at the referees.
"Four of the five penalties Argentina got at the World Cup never happened," Logano told his country's radio station.
"The reality is that Messi has a lot of weight when it comes to influencing football in the world. Do you think FIFA doesn't take that into account?! Do you think Argentina didn't take advantage of that?!"
Logano added: "The referees give VAR too much power to interpret situations. In one game, 20 penalties can also be whistled. VAR only created chaos in football. I said these things, angrily, to Pierluigi Collina (FIFA's head of refereeing) during the World Cup. What FIFA did with VAR was a political move."
