Volker Struth, advisor to former Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann, has criticised the process of his release from FCB.
Munich – Volker Struth has been in the football business for several years and has probably already experienced a lot. The player's agent represents Toni Kroos and Niklas Süle, among others, and Julian Nagelsmann is also one of his clients.

Advisor reveals secret about Nagelsmann's Bayern-Aus: Reporter surprised him at celebrity dinner
At the end of March, he was released by FC Bayern Munich after a 1-2 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen, with Thomas Tuchel taking over for him. Above all, there was criticism from many sides afterwards about the way it was done. Struth has now also commented on the separation in the Bild podcast "Phrasenmäher".
"I was in a restaurant with Carsten Maschmeyer and that evening I also met the actor Jan-Josef Liefers. We had just drunk a bottle of wine when I received a call from a journalist who told me: 'That was quick with Julian,'" says Struth, who at first couldn't make sense of the statement at all.

Struth would have thought Nagelsmann would get a little more time
When questioned by the unsuspecting Struth, the reporter said, "What, you don't know that yet? Julian is out and Tuchel is the new coach." Later, Struth contacted Nagelsmann himself, who, according to his statement, also "knew nothing". In the end, it was above all the "how" that Struth could not understand and had not "gotten to know" before.
It was only when asked by his partner Sascha Breese, who contacted sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic via Whatsapp, that they received an invitation to the FC Bayern office. "Then we knew there was something to it," said Struth: "After this Leverkusen game, I wouldn't have bet my fortune that nothing would happen. I would have thought that they would wait for the games against Manchester City, for example."
FC Bayern: Quarter-final exit gave Struth "no sleepless nights"
The quarter-final exit in the Champions League that followed shortly afterwards "didn't give him any sleepless nights", but that was also "human". For Nagelsmann himself, the incidents were also "a small shock".

Struth described the separation as "wrong" in the further course of the podcast, and he also denied reports that Nagelsmann had lost the dressing room. Parts of the team would even regret Nagelsmann's release. (masc)
