The president of Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), like Ratcliffe, wants to buy ManU from the Glazer family.
The Glazers, owners of the Red Devils for 18 years, favor a partial purchase of their club. Jim Ratcliffe seemed to be the best placed in a third round of bidding at the end of April since his offer allowed co-presidents Avram and Joel Glazer to remain involved in the management of Manchester United.
Conversely, Sheikh Jassim's offer aims for a 100% takeover of the club.
According to the Sky channel, the sheikh's offer at the end of April already reached 5.7 billion euros, which would be a world record for this type of transaction.
The Glazer brothers hope to make seven billion from the sale, and had hinted that they might ultimately not pull out if bids don't hit that mark.
