Maccabi Tel Aviv continues to maintain the skeleton of its squad from the current season and today (Thursday) the team announced the signing of Bonzi Coulson for another two years. The forward, who only joined the Yellows last summer, fit in well with the team and was a key part of a team that was one win away from qualifying for the Euroleague Final Four. Coulson is the fourth player to extend his contract with the team after Wade Baldwin, Lorenzo Brown and Roman Sorkin, while John DiBartolomeo has also agreed and is expected to continue for another season.
"Bonzi for me had one of the most impressive rookie seasons I can remember," coach Oded Katsch told the official website. "He's awesome for us. He brings us a lot of energy, he is versatile, can play in several positions. I have no doubt that he will only get better as time goes on. There is no doubt that this is a very high-quality signing. Beyond that, it is to leave the foundation with continuity and quality. Everyone loves Bonzi."

"I am happy that Bonzi is continuing with us," said incoming sporting director Avi Eban, referring to considerations in extending his contract: "He entered our system at Maccabi smoothly and naturally. Beyond his obvious professional abilities, Bonzi brings heart and soul to the field. He's always an All-In and that's exactly the Maccabist DNA we're looking for."
Coulson scored in double digits 19 times in the Euroleague regular season (29 points against Panathinaikos) and finished with 9.8 points and 5.2 rebounds in the playoff series against Monaco. He averaged 10.7 points per game overall in the Euroleague and 9.5 in the Premier League.
