Highlights: Cyclist Danielle Erlichman, who was supposed to participate in the competition, told Israel Hayom: "I've been riding since I was 6 years old and I've never seen such a horror, people started walking with the horses but they lay down and couldn't move." "We now have 4 horses in mortal danger and many who are hooked up to IVs, the veterinarians don't sleep at night to take care of them," says horse owner on the farm. "I personally do not rule out that this is a case on nationalist grounds, it could be criminal, nationalistic, or a factory blunder, but we are currently in a state of collapse"

A day after the first report in Israel Hayom about poisoning at a horse farm in Ra'anana, it turns out that ten of them were riding horses used by some of the best riders in the country, and some of them are also part of the young Israeli team. Due to the poisoning, the riders will miss the important competition held at Double K Farm in jumping and dressage (the two Olympic disciplines in equestrianism).

One of the riders who was supposed to participate in the championship is Danielle Erlichman, a horse owner on the farm, who was shocked to discover what happened in recent days and recalls: "It's just a catastrophe that wasn't seen, we arrived at the farm a few days ago and saw all the horses lying down and laxatives, we started calling veterinarians."

"I've been riding since I was 6 years old and I've never seen such a horror, people started walking with their horses but they lay down and couldn't move. We now have 4 horses in mortal danger and many who are hooked up to IVs, the veterinarians don't sleep at night to take care of them."

What actually happened here?

"The food factory said it was something specific, it was under investigation. There's no way it's competing, it's a sport built on people who love animals, putting such deadly poison in order to kill an animal is something a horseman would never do."

"It didn't come from the air and that's why an investigation is underway, whether it's a failure of the factory that removes responsibility, or someone who did it maliciously. I personally do not rule out that this is a case on nationalist grounds, it could be criminal, nationalistic, or a factory blunder, but we are currently in a state of collapse. It's psychic that people can hurt animals like that."

And how does this affect the Israeli championship?

"Ten horses had to go to the championship, including me and one of the top riders in the country who had already been named rider of the year. We went to the championship. I and other farm athletes train for a whole year to reach the Israeli championships and suddenly it explodes in your face. Our athletes were supposed to be on the podium in the competition."

"I'm trying to start a crowdfunding campaign, because otherwise the farm will collapse and we're just in a catastrophe here. The union also helps, they can provide legal advice and backing, but beyond that they really can't fund it. They subsist on a weight and a half."
