Arjen Robben paid a visit to his old colleagues on Friday. Coach Tuchel would apparently like to fall back on him in the final spurt of the season.
Munich – On the day before the important Bundesliga match against RB Leipzig, FC Bayern welcomed a very special visitor to Säbener Straße: Arjen Robben, who shaped an era during his ten years with the record champions, stopped by his old colleagues. Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel was asked about the guest at the press conference on Friday afternoon and joked about a return of the Dutchman.

Arjen Robben visits old place of work: hugs for the Bayern stars
This sight makes Bayern fans reminisce: Robben stopped by FC Bayern's training session on Friday and greeted his former teammates. The league leaders published a video compilation in which the former Netherlands international meets his former teammates. In addition to Thomas Müller, he welcomed Sven Ulreich, Leon Goretzka and Kingsley Coman, and there was also a hug from compatriot Matthijs de Ligt.
From 2009 to 2019, Robben was the face of Bayern's attack, the 2010 World Cup runner-up won eight league titles with the Munich team and lifted the DFB Cup five times. However, his greatest success in Bayern was winning the Champions League title in 2013, when he scored the decisive 2-1 winning goal against Borussia Dortmund.
Tuchel on Robben visit: "I tried to convince him for tomorrow"
"I tried to convince him for tomorrow. He wasn't the problem, the DFL is the problem because he's not registered," Tuchel jokingly said of the celebrity visit. "We will work with Kathleen Krüger (team manager, editor's note) I want to say a serious word about why there isn't another loophole," he added, before struck a serious note again.
Tuchel welcomed the "beautiful" visit of the Bayern legend. "Just the aura, the personality, his clarity and mental strength, the hunger, but also the humility as a person – that's very impressive. That's why he's more than welcome," said the trainer about the training guest. "We hope he visits us again and again. Every athlete, every footballer can take a leaf out of his book, that's for sure."
FC Bayern icon Arjen Robben ended his career after Netherlands interlude
Robben ended his playing career in the summer of 2021, during his one-year interlude for his boyhood club FC Groningen, injuries repeatedly set him back, so that in the end he only made seven appearances for the Dutch first division club.

However, Robben is still fit, which he only proved in mid-April. At the marathon in Rotterdam, he set a personal best. However, it will probably not be enough for a second comeback to professional football. But Robben has apparently found an occupation that he seems to like: as a youth coach of the amateur club Quick 1887.
