AC Milan recovered well after its elimination in the semifinals of the Champions League by winning widely (5-1) over Sampdoria Genoa, already relegated, Saturday in the 36th matchday of Serie A.

The Milanese remain 5th with a length behind Lazio Rome, 4th and last qualified for the C1, which plays Sunday on the lawn of Udinese.
In the afternoon, Atalanta Bergamo (6th) maintained its chances of hanging a European jump seat by beating Hellas Verona (3-1) while Cremonese (19th) is almost in the second division. Bergamo, 6th with 61 points, also remains mathematically in the race for the Champions League, four points behind Lazio.
The fate of Cremonese, swept at home by Bologna (5-1), hangs by a thread, six points behind the maintenance zone two days from the end. Its relegation will be recorded on Sunday if Spezia, 17th and first non-relegable, takes at least one point from Lecce (16th) in a crucial match for the maintenance.
