Relegation drama in the Bundesliga: Schalke comes back, Hertha is relegated at the last minute

17:38 p.m.: What a dramatic finale in the Bundesliga: Union Berlin leaves feathers in the race for the Champions League, Hoffenheim is saved. Schalke and Bochum are scoring points and are still hoping to stay in the league. Hertha BSC, on the other hand, was actually relegated after the drama in injury time.

17:36 p.m.: Union Berlin again with the connection, but that is probably no more than cosmetic results. In return, Dabbur puts the lid on it.

17:27 p.m.: Meanwhile, TSG Hoffenheim wins the game and is thus saved. The game against Schalke is over, the Gelsenkirchen hope for direct relegation.

Race for the Champions League: Union must step up after Freiburg victory

RB Leipzig currently has the best prospects for the Champions League with 60 points. The Red Bulls are challenged in the top game at 18.30 CET at FC Bayern. SC Freiburg were able to reduce their deficit to one point with the three-pointer against VfL Wolfsburg on Friday evening, but are only in fifth place on goal difference.

After a strong season, Union Berlin are hoping for the first Champions League appearance in the club's history. With a win at relegation-threatened TSG Hoffenheim, the Köpenickers would be almost certain in the Champions League. The significantly better goal difference compared to SC Freiburg makes it possible. However, the final decision will not be made until matchday 34.

Who qualifies for the Europa League and Conference League depends on the outcome of the DFB-Pokal. The cup winner automatically qualifies for the Europa League. If Eintracht Frankfurt actually does not make it into the European business via the league, but wins the DFB Cup, then the SBU will continue to play internationally next year. The final decision on qualification for the European competition will not be made until after Matchday 34.

Relegation battle: Final for Hertha BSC – Schalke and Bochum under pressure

Hertha BSC are facing a real game of fate: the old lady must win at home against VfL Bochum and hope for help in order not to be relegated directly. Not even a draw would be enough for the relegation. As soon as Schalke and VfB Stuttgart win their games, not even three points are enough for Hertha to avert relegation.
