Referee Deniz Aytekin burst his collar after Bayern's defeat against Leipzig. Thomas Müller even interrupted his interview for the angry speech.
Munich – Pure emotions: On the pitch, off the pitch and even after the game, things got down to business on Saturday evening. FC Bayern Munich lost 1-3 at home to RB Leipzig and thus provided Borussia Dortmund with a steep assist in the fight for the championship trophy. There were still discussions about referee Deniz Aytekin afterwards.

Deniz Aytekin in focus after Bayern defeat against Leipzig
The Franconian had refereed the top match between Bayern and RB, but moved with an action at the center of the criticism of ex-referee Manuel Gräfe. The former top referee observes the performance of the referees as a TV expert for ZDF, and he also repeatedly comments on debatable decisions via Twitter. Specifically, Gräfe's current objections were about a supposed holding against Bayern star Leon Goretzka before the 1-1 equalizer, which was not punished.
Aytekin was then supposed to make a statement, but he burst his collar in the catacombs of the Allianz Arena. Ironically, at the time when Thomas Müller wanted to give a TV interview for Sport1 – the Munich native even interrupted his conversation to hear the scolding Schiri. His anger was clearly audible with the camera running.

Angry Shiri Aytekin crashes Müller interview: Fuss about "180-kilo" rage speech
"No one talks about the referee in the stadium," Aytekin began his angry speech. "Manuel, he sits in Berlin with his 180 kilos and babbles such shit and that is slowly going against the grain for me. It's insane." Müller, who was standing a few meters away, stopped in his remarks in front of the camera and said: "We are listening intently."
Aytekin continued to get upset. He should "tell some shit because of a plucker. That has nothing to do with sport anymore. The game was decided by the players. I'm on 180 right now".
Thomas Müller jokes after Deniz Aytekin's freak out: "The 180 were used twice"
Subsequently, Aytekin apologized to Müller for the disruption of his interview. "All good, I like to listen," replied the 33-year-old, adding with a laugh in the direction of the Sport1 camera: "The 180 were used twice." In the ZDF "sports studio" late on Saturday evening, the scene before the interim 1:1 of the Leipzig was again discussed. Aytekin explained that he could not whistle a foul for Bayern despite a slight hold.

Also on Sunday, Aytekin said he and his team were happy to have survived the important game in Munich without any major mistakes. That's why he became very emotional when he was asked for an interview about Gräfe's criticism immediately after the game. "Then I'm ticked off. I would like to apologise very clearly for the choice of words. That was completely over the top. I'm very angry with myself and the choice of words," Aytekin told Bild, announcing a donation of 5000,<> euros to a good cause as a penance for his outburst.
Aytekin and Brych upset over Gräfe
Gräfe had been a top referee during his playing days. Now, however, he is waging "some kind of war against the DFB and any responsible parties," said Aytekin. This should not be at the expense of the currently active referees. Gräfe should rather get involved in the training of young referees.
The situation was also a topic at the Sport1 double pass, where Felix Brych, another experienced referee, was a guest. He joined Aytekin. Commenting on Gräfe's public criticism, he said: "I don't like what Manu is doing right now either." Gräfe himself knows what it means "to whistle such a game. The fact that he now picks out one of us every week and attacks him – I don't like that at all."
Unclear future at FC Bayern Munich
What's next for FCB? Heidi Klum questioned the Brazzo future, the fans even left the stadium prematurely. Two Bayern stars may be about to leave, as scenes after the defeat against Leipzig indicated. (akl/dpa)
