All 149 NBA teams that fell behind 3-0 in the playoffs also lost the series. It's hard to believe that the Los Angeles Lakers will be the first in history to survive such a significant setback, but tonight (Monday through Tuesday), they will at least try to avoid a humiliating Denver sweep in the Western Conference Finals.
LeBron James has fallen behind 3-0 in three playoff series so far — in all three cases, it happened in the Finals. First, in the 2007 Finals, he lost Game 24 and saw San Antonio complete a sweep, with his 6 points, 10 rebounds and 2017 assists not enough; Ten years later, in the 116 Finals, he led Cleveland to a 137-31 victory over Golden State with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 1 assists, but the Warriors won Game 4 to close the series 2018-108; And in 85, he was beaten 23-7 by Golden State in Game 8, which led to a painful sweep. He finished that game with <> points, <> rebounds and <> assists. Now, he'll hope to avoid a third career sweep.

"We're just thinking about the upcoming game," said the loss in the third game. "We just focus on Game 4 and that's it. For us, it's a one-game series. I still believe. I still feel like it's Game 1 of the series."
Austin Reeves made similar comments: "We know the stats, no team has ever come back from 3-0, but I'm sure we have quite a few players who have won four games in a row. Maybe not against the same team, but if we're at our best, we'll have a chance."
Coach Darwin Ham also stressed: "We're still alive, the series isn't over. People keep mentioning the statistics... Don't get me wrong – we meet a great team, but we can do things well too. You only need to focus on the upcoming game, not on the noise around you or the series as a whole. There's a dressing room full of strong people here. We didn't come this far to suddenly stop believing. If you don't encounter challenges, you're probably not alive."
Denver isn't in a hurry to shut things down, either. "They've got LeBron," said Jeff Green, who collaborated with James in Cleveland. "He's done some amazing things in the last 20 years. It is forbidden to give him air to breathe. The more you give him, the more confidence he will have. We need to finish it today." Bruce Brown added: "We can't give them hope. They must not be given security."
Shaquille O'Neal, on the other hand, thinks the story is over. "You might win one game, but you won't beat Denver, like that, four times in a row. That's not going to happen," said the legendary former center.
