Maccabi Haifa is expected to meet soon with the team's midfielder, Ali Mohammed, in order to sign him to a new and upgraded contract. Mohammed will terminate his contract next summer, but the desire is to see him continue at Carmel beyond next season, at least until 2026.
Mohammed will receive an upgrade in his salary, as befits one of the senior players in the ranks of the champions. Professional manager Gal Alberman sees Mohammed's husband as an asset to Maccabi Haifa, as he is not a foreign player, after receiving residency status last summer. Also, professionally, the Niger national team midfielder is highly regarded in the professional team and the player himself is also interested in continuing in Carmel.
In doing so, the Greens will continue to retain the squad, after striker Dean David signed until 2026 yesterday. Mohammed is in Maccabi Haifa's professional plans for next season, in a back midfield that will be made up of Mohammed Abu Fani (unless an exceptional offer arrives from a top European league) and Laurent Abergel, with whom negotiations are underway.

As for Abergel, it is his French club Lorient who are currently making the move difficult, but Haifa believes that things will eventually work out. The fact that Abergil is Jewish and will not be considered a foreigner also makes him a kind of strategic asset for the champion. Jewish/German striker Eric Shurnov is also expected to sign for Carmel for close to a million euros and move to the Israeli champions from FC Nuremberg, which plays in the second Bundesliga.
