For the eighth time in its history, Beitar Jerusalem was crowned the holders of the State Cup on Tuesday evening after a crushing 0-3 victory over Maccabi Netanya in the final. This is the most amazing stamp of a crazy and volatile season for Jerusalemites, which began with uncertainty under previous owner Moshe Hogeg and continued with sharp ups and downs in ability on the pitch.

Among those congratulating Jerusalem on winning the cup was Moshe Hogeg, who wrote on Facebook: "Many people I love in this club, I am genuinely happy with your joy. For all the suffering you've endured this season, in part of which I have unintentionally, you deserve this moment."

Afterwards, Hogeg also personally congratulated coach Yossi Abukasis and owner Barak Abramov, to whom he transferred the team last summer.

"Dear Yossi, bringing you, despite what happened with Sharon Mimer, was one of the best decisions I have ever been privileged to make, happy for you that you received such closure at the club. Barki [Abramov], at the beginning of the season you were angry with me for convincing you to buy the club, I told you that thanks to this mitzvah you did to me, my family and the club, God will reward you, thank God this happened and not only because of the trophy."

Minister of Culture and Sport Miki Zohar joined the congratulations and also referred to the powders that clouded the opening of the final: "Congratulations to Beitar Jerusalem for winning the State Cup. Unfortunately, the game will be remembered for the wrestling that stopped the game, throwing objects from the stands and fans entering the field. Together with hundreds of thousands of spectators and fans, the President and myself have seen how violence destroys the sporting experience. I will not rest and will not rest until the violence on the courts stops."

League Chairman Erez Kalfon added: "Congratulations to Beitar Jerusalem Club, coach Yossi Abukasis, players, club staff and dedicated fans on winning their eighth trophy. You deserve a trophy after your impressive journey in the factory and I am sure that you will represent Israeli football with honor in Europe. A special warm word goes to owner Barak Abramov, who took a disbanded club just before the start of the season, and led it to achievements already in his first season."
