Hungarian side Ferencváros will submit an official offer within 24 hours to Maccabi Haifa in order to purchase Mohammed Abu Fani's player card. The midfielder has a release clause estimated at around two million euros, but the Hungarians are expected to offer a significantly lower sum according to estimates by sources close to the Hungarian club's chiefs. In any case, the Hungarians have made a final decision to try to acquire Abu Fani and will submit an official offer to the Greens in the coming day.
Ferencváros has won the last five Hungarian titles and on its lines is the coach of the Russian national team at the 2018 World Cup, Stanislav Cherchesov. The club invests large sums of money in order to achieve success in Europe as well and in the 2020-21 season the team qualified for the group stage of the Champions League. In recent years, Ferencváros has acquired quite a few players for sums ranging from 1.5-2 million euros, from teams in Croatia, Moldova, Norway, the Czech Republic and Ukraine.

Abu Fani, 25, grew up in Maccabi Haifa's youth department and was promoted to the senior team in 2017. Later he was loaned to Hapoel Ramat Gan and Hapoel Hadera, and for the past three years has been a senior and full partner in Maccabi Haifa's championship wins. During this period he was mentioned as a candidate for teams from Italy, Germany and Scotland (Celtic), but now it seems that Ferencváros is the serious candidate to add him.
