Beitar Jerusalem fans break into the lawn of the 2023 State Cup final (documentation on social networks according to section 27A of the Copyright Law)
A huge farce at the end of the State Cup final. Beitar Jerusalem won the title for the first time since 2009 with a convincing 0-3 victory over Maccabi Netanya, but the events that took place at the final whistle overshadowed moments that should have been magical for the Jerusalem club. Beitar fans broke into the pitch, forcing security forces to evacuate Israeli President Isaac Herzog. Afterwards, the announcer at the Haifa stadium announced that the trophy hoisting ceremony had been canceled.
What may worry Beitar is a clause in the Football Association's disciplinary regulations, which deals with the outbreak of large crowds on the field. "If the offence is committed in a cup match, the team will be expelled from the competition and the victory will be awarded to the opposing team, and if it wins the cup it will be deprived of the title as cup holder as well as all sporting and economic rights arising from its participation in the final match (excluding revenue from ticket sales) and the trophy will be awarded to the team that competed against it in this match."

The hoisting ceremony has been cancelled, and if the honest association decides to punish Beitar Jerusalem in the aforementioned section, it may still transfer the title to the runner-up, at least for the time being, Maccabi Netanya.
Hapoel Be'er Sheva owner Alona Barkat tweeted and tagged the Football Association: "Chaos at Sammy Ofer. Whose vicarious liability? May it end peacefully."
