What's going on between Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari? Apparently, the Italians are eager to lure the Formula 1 star to them, but the Briton does not yet seem convinced.
London – Lewis Hamilton in a Ferrari: That would certainly be a sensation. The Formula 1 star has been under contract with Mercedes for around ten years and won a total of six of his seven world championship titles with the racing team. Now his contract expires at the end of the year, and rumours are growing that he could then leave Mercedes.

Money apparently plays a supporting role in Lewis Hamilton
The wild speculation about a spectacular change of Hamilton from Mercedes to Ferrari has been going on for weeks. However, as the English newspaper Daily Mail now reports, the Scuderia will soon offer the 38-year-old Briton a concrete contract with a salary of around 46 million euros for the coming season. However, the superstar had recently emphasized several times that he wanted to continue driving for the Silver Arrows in the future and was not currently thinking about a change. Incidentally, in his long racing career, he always criticizes publicly.
Money should play a supporting role, as Hamilton also earns lavishly at Mercedes and would continue to earn, it was said. However, according to the paper, Hamilton is already in personal contact with the powerful Ferrari boss John Elkann. The American is the great decision-maker of the famous car manufacturer and responsible for the entire group.

Two scenarios for a Hamilton move to Ferrari
He had already imagined what it would be like to "drive in red," Hamilton said recently in an interview with the US broadcaster ESPN. "But then I go to my team, to Mercedes, and that's my home. I'm happy where I am," Hamilton said earlier this month: "I haven't signed a contract yet, but we're working on one." Team boss Toto Wolff had also recently emphasized that he wanted to continue working with Hamilton.
According to the Daily Mail, there are two scenarios for a Hamilton switch. On the one hand, he could drive alongside Charles Leclerc in 2024, but on the other hand, it is also possible that Hamilton and Leclerc will swap cockpits. Accordingly, the 25-year-old Monegasque Leclerc could join Mercedes. By the way, he is a real music talent, his song is even available on Spotify.
Wolff had recently denied the plans explained. "I haven't had a single conversation with the Charles, except at the airport, whether we're going to Starbucks or not," Wolff said in Baku on Sky: "We've been on the road with the Lewis for ten years and that's not going to change." (msb/dpa)
