After Hapoel Holon and Hapoel Tel Aviv completed their work with a sweep on their way to the semi-finals of the Premier League playoffs, Maccabi Tel Aviv is trying to join them tonight (Wednesday) with its own sweep over Hapoel Be'er Sheva/Dimona. The Yellows survived two pretty close games against the team from the capital of the Negev on the way to victory, and will now hope to reach a 0-3 that will set them up against the champions from Holon in the next series.
Oded Ketch decided not to make a change to the roster for Game 3 of the series, so Wade Baldwin and Josh Nivo were again out of his roster. Darren Hilliard and Alex Poythers have benefited from the no-man's-land, and will try to convince Ketch to keep them in the squad for the next series, assuming Maccabi Tel Aviv does qualify. Jerrell Martin was cut from the squad at the last minute due to foot soreness, so Ketch lined up to face four strangers. Even before the game, Roman Sorkin received an award for his All-NBA Team selection.
On the other hand, Be'er Sheva wants to register a surprise in Yad Eliyahu, extend the series and bring it back for another game at home. After the effort that led to two close games against the Yellows, Lior Lyubin will hope that this time it will be reflected on the scoreboard so as not to end the season feeling like he missed out.
