Spanish police transfer Dani Alves to detention center: Brazilian footballer suspected of rape (Reuters)
Dani Alves and his lawyers gave the Barcelona court a variety of testimonies and evidence to prove the footballer's innocence, but according to security camera footage at the Sutton club obtained by the Catalan newspaper Ara, there is no doubt that Alves did indeed rape a local young woman, as she claimed in a complaint she filed against him several months ago.
The footage shows the entire sequence of events on the night Alves committed the offense. Here's how it happened: the actor entered the club in the early morning and immediately went to the VIP area, where he asked one of the waiters to call a young woman who was in another plot with her friends. The women agreed to join, the partygoers drank champagne together, the atmosphere became lighter and dancing began.
"At one point, the victim had her back to the footballer, but he grabbed her hand and took her towards his loins," the Catalan newspaper reported. "She abruptly took out her hand and made it seem to be handing it to her cousin to dance with her and get away from Alves. Then they danced face to face and Alves lowered his hand to the young woman's buttocks, which moved her again."

The Brazilian's behaviour later worsened: "Alves stepped away from the scene. A camera that captures the entire floor clearly shows him standing next to the door, opening it and waiting for the victim to pass by. He stands in her way and closes the door while she's inside." Barcelona explained that the cameras showed that the young woman "didn't know where she was going" because the light was off and they couldn't see the inside of the room, referring to the bathroom where the rape took place.
"She approached in such a way that she only saw Alves outside the door and couldn't understand what was inside. Other than that, there was no sign on the door. In the affidavit, she claimed that she thought they were entering a smoking area. Her intention was to say goodbye to the footballer after talking to her cousin because they did not feel comfortable," it said.

Of course, the cameras didn't capture what happened behind that door after it closed. Alves came out of the cell first, took a sip from a glass at the table and avoided talking to those who spent time with him. He took pictures with Ella from the table next to him. The young woman leaves and immediately turns to her cousin to announce that it is time to go. She bids Alves farewell with a cold handshake, and they both quickly leave the club. At the exit, the victim burst into tears and pointed to a wound on her knee." This wound, it was explained, is typical in cases of sexual assault. "Then they hugged, with the young woman crying nonstop. One of the security guards approached them, and she pointed to the wound again."
At the end of the event, Alves left the club: "He passes by the group without stopping, and even takes a step aside to avoid the young women and the security guard. Their conversation stopped and they looked at him without saying a word. Before that, Alves was loose, sociable and talkative. After that, he didn't utter a word anymore."
