The investigation is progressing. A new police officer was indicted on March 8 in the judicial investigation into suspicions of leaking confidential information for the benefit of PSG, said Thursday a judicial source, confirming information from Le Monde.
This police officer was indicted for breach of the secrecy of national defense, violation of professional secrecy and misuse of the purpose of processing personal data, according to the judicial source. His placement under judicial supervision was confirmed by the investigating chamber on 11 May, the source added.
Tickets for matches against information
According to a source close to the case, it is Sofiane S., a brigadier-chief who was then assigned to the Zonal Service of Territorial Intelligence (SZRT) of Bordeaux. He is mainly suspected, according to an investigation report at the end of September seen by AFP, of having provided a protagonist of the file with elements on a fan slapped by Neymar in 2019, whose identity was then disclosed on Twitter. In exchange, he would have obtained tickets for matches of the club.
He is at least the third police officer on duty at the time of the alleged facts indicted in this case. The story broke in September, initially focusing on suspicions of transmitting confidential information on certain people from police files, including the Paris football club.
