Faced with the controversy, the Organizing Committee (OCOG) and its president, Tony Estanguet, maintain that the Paris Olympiad is no more expensive "than in London in 2012". They also received the support of the Minister of Sports and Games, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, who certified, during a hearing at the National Assembly, that the rates were "lower" than other editions, "taking into accountinflation".
