He was named MVP of the season in the Spanish league on Friday after averaging 14.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game for Tenerife, which finished the regular season in fourth place in the table. Shermadini led the entire league in scoring per game (18.7).
In doing so, the Georgian interior player made history by receiving the most prestigious individual title for the second time in his career, having also won it in 2020/21. Other players who can be proud of such an achievement? Daryl Middleton, Arvydas Sabonis, Tanuka Bird, Luis Scola, Felipe Reyes and Nikola Mirotic. Along the way, he won the Spanish Player of the Month award for the 11th time in his career – more than any other player in La Liga history.
