Dekel Keinan will not return to Maccabi Haifa as Masai's assistant. The Greens pressured the defender to return to Israel after playing in recent years in the United States, but from the outset he made it clear to the club's leaders that his inclination was to stay in the United States, and so he confirmed Friday evening when he issued a message thanking Maccabi Haifa for trying to bring him back.
"Very flattered by the request and it totally feels natural to come home, but it's not my time to retire yet! I will continue to play until the last drop of sweat," clarified Keenan, who will celebrate his 39th birthday in September.

Keinan added: "Masai and the club deserve someone who will come wholeheartedly and be 100% committed to the system. Right now, I'm not there yet." Therefore, Dego will now be looking for another assistant for the role and he recently met with Dušan Matovic who may join his team built to try and lead the champions to a European campaign and a fourth successive success.
