The approximately 1,950 clubs have decided. Following the resignation of the 9 elected representatives of Ovale Ensemble, the opposition list, and three members of the presidential majority, including that of the former president of the FFR Bernard Laporte, 12 positions on the steering committee of the FFR were to be filled.
And the verdict is final. The list led by Florian Grill won eleven of the twelve places (increasing its representativeness by two units). Only Guilhem Guirado, the former captain of the XV of France, was elected for the majority in place. He came 4th in this single-member election (51%), behind Florian Grill (61%), Abdelatif Benazzi (58.5%) and Jean-Marc Lhermet (56.40%).
Blanco and Skrela not re-elected
A slap in the face for the team in place. But also for Serge Blanco and Jean-Claude Skrela, who had resigned with a bang from Ovale Ensemble to leave as mavericks. The two former internationals were rejected. They will therefore not sit on the Steering Committee. And will not be able to run for president
Because, in three weeks, from 12 to 14 June, the clubs will be asked to vote again, this time to elect the new president of the FFR (the former treasurer, Alexandre Martinez is the interim president since the resignation of Bernard Laporte, early January). Candidates must be members of this Steering Committee.
Cohabitation in the event of Florian Grill's election as president
A CD with 40 members. Distributed as follows: 27 for the presidential majority and 11 for the opposition (plus the 2 members appointed by the LNR, also resigned). This means that, if club presidents elect Florian Grill rather than Patrick Buisson, who will most likely be nominated as the majority candidate, he will be in cohabitation, with a Management Committee that will be able to reject all his initiatives until the end of his mandate, in June 2024.
