The footballers of FCA Unterbruck secure their place in the district league with a home win against SG DJK Wettstetten.
Unterbruck – "We're a home force again!" said FCA coach Norbert Mößmer. In the 2-0 (1-0) victory against SG DJK Ingolstadt/Wettstetten, they not only secured their second win of the season on home turf in the district league, but also made it clear that they would stay in the league.
The Ampertal women had everything under control right from the start. Consequently, they took the lead after just under half an hour through Lena Zaindl's 19th goal of the season. This time, the striker prevailed after a wide diagonal pass against the defense and later also the goalkeeper. But the well-known problem followed: "After our hit, we swam as usual," said Mößmer. But defensive boss Kathrin Hohlenburger showed an outstanding performance and destroyed every opponent's attack.

At half-time, the coaching staff made a change and tried to bring more calm to the pitch. In the second 45 minutes, the hosts dominated the game. Shortly before the end, Marlene Kern put the lid on it with her first goal in the women's section. After a cross from Zaindl, she was spot on and slotted in to make it 2-0 (83rd). Afterwards, the visitors from Ingolstadt gave up and FCA claimed their second home win in a row.
This means that two matchdays before the end of the season, relegation in the district league is already fixed. FCA will face SV Geroldshausen on Saturday, 10 June, at 11 a.m. CET. There, Mößmer's girls could take the first step to "finish third after a mixed season". FRANZISKA KUGLER
