After two years in which he did not play too much but added two championships to his balance, Ben Shahr said goodbye to Maccabi Haifa in an Instagram post on Saturday. Shahar, who played only 7 minutes in the Premier League last season in the final round against Maccabi Netanya, after suffering a long injury to his foot, posted on social media and summarized his time in the green uniform.
"For the first time in my career, I'm trying to summarize a period but don't really know where to start and what to say." "First of all, I want to say to you, the fans, a huge thank you. Thank you for hugging and enveloping me throughout the period even if you didn't see me on the court. From the messages I received from you, I understood that you feel just like me, that this period was mostly a feeling of missing out and things should have looked different. But like any professional player, I know that's how it is in sports, even if it's hard to make or understand the decisions."

The veteran striker added: "This period was made up of good moments and challenging moments. I started it very well on the pitch with a goal and the title of champion of champions. This year I also experienced a serious injury at the beginning of the season, and despite the disappointment I feel I won. I woke up every day knowing that no matter what happened, I would come and work as hard as I could. I decided to come in happy and bring my experience to the locker room and help my teammates pick up another championship title. They deserve all the credit after such a great season."

He concluded: "Today I am starting a new path. Thank God, the injury is behind me. The hunger and desire to show myself soon on the pitch is greater than ever. I thank G-d for letting me learn from this time as well, and I am already looking forward to the next challenge."
