Beitar Jerusalem closed out one of its most successful weeks in recent years, lifting the State Cup for the first time since 2009. After the festivities came to an end, Beitar is already thinking about the next season, which will also include games in the Conference League qualifiers, to which they qualified thanks to winning the cup. Even before it finds out who its first European hurdle will be, Beitar could earn a significant sum from the sale of a player who is no longer in its ranks - Livai Garcia.

The 25-year-old winger, who was at Beitar in the 2019/20 season, is closing out a successful third year with AEK Athens, which he led to the Greek double. Following the achievement, Garcia became a sought-after name across Europe, with reports in the Greek capital reportedly turning down a €15 million offer from an unknown team. Following the growing interest in the player, it was claimed in Greece that AEK had raised Garcia's price tag to €20 million, not including bonuses.

If and when Garcia finds himself a new home this summer, Beitar Jerusalem is expected to earn a significant share of the deal. As part of the agreement between the two groups three years ago, Beitar will receive 20% of the profit above 2.5 million euros – the amount at which it was sold at the time.

For example, if AEK does sell Garcia for 20 million euros, Beitar will bring in 3.5 million euros, which is 20% of 17.5 million euros. Garcia and his representatives will pocket the same amount, with the remaining 60% going to the Greeks. Incidentally, in Greece it was reported that even before an offer from an anonymous group of 15 million euros was submitted, French club Montpellier offered 10 million euros and was refused.

By comparison, only eight players were sold from a Premier League team for more than €3.5 million, so this is a significant income for Barak Abramov's club. The eight actors are Eran Zehavi, Oscar Gloch, Manor Solomon, Predrag Raikovich, Ayegbeni Yakubu, Dia Seba, Liel Abda and Gadi Kinda.
