The Premier League season will come to an end tonight (Sunday) with the ten matches of matchday 38, the lockout cycle. Champions are already there, the identities of Champions League and Europa League qualifiers are already known, leaving us with one major battle - survival.
Sure, there's also a pretty minor battle for a Conference League ticket between Aston Villa and Tottenham, but the focus will be on three pitches, with 17th-placed Everton, 18th-placed Leicester and 19th-placed Leeds fighting for their lives in the Premier League.
Two of them will eventually join Southampton and go down to the Championship, with only one of them depending on themselves, and that is Everton, who have 33 points to their rivals' 31 each. Sean Ditch's side win against Bournemouth at Goodison Park, and they will stay.

Another possibility, probably the most fascinating, is wins by Leicester (hosting West Ham) and Leeds (hosting Tottenham) and a draw with Everton â creating a situation in which all three would have 34 points and goal difference would cruelly decide their fate. Leicester currently have the best goal difference: -18, compared to Everton's -24 and Leeds' -27. Undoubtedly, this is going to be a tense and dramatic evening.

The oldest of the three in England's First Division is Everton, who have not been relegated since their promotion in 1954. Leeds, on the other hand, only returned to the Premier League three seasons ago, while Leicester â recall the 2015/2016 champions â have been playing in the Premier League since the 2014/2015 season.
