A day in pink was enough for Primoz Roglic to win his first Giro d'Italia. The rider of the Jumbo-Visma is officially crowned this Sunday at the finish in Rome. He had taken the leader's jersey the day before from Geraint Thomas during a mountain time trial. The Slovenian finished 14 seconds ahead of the Welshman from Ineos and won his fourth Grand Tour after his three Vueltas.
🗣️ "Enjoy it, savour it, remember it. The world's best, the greatest of all time sprints to victory again." 🤩

The last stage, which left and arrived in Rome, was without difficulty. The victory was contested in a sprint and Mark Cavendish (Astana Qazaqstan) raised the bars for the first time this season. Quite a symbol since the Briton was competing in his last Giro. He will retire at the end of the season. Germany's Pascal Ackermann (UAE) crashed in the final package.
On the French side, Thibaut Pinot finished fifth overall and won the best climber classification.
