Is Karl-Heinz Rummenigge about to make a comeback at Bayern Munich? According to a report, he could jump into the fray after the Kahn-Salihamidzic expulsion.

Update from May 28, 11:47 a.m.: At a press conference, FCB president Herbert Hainer and designated CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen answered questions from the media about the FCB personnel quake. In addition to the Kahn case, Hainer also gave an insight into the situation around Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. He confirmed that he had spoken to Rummenigge "intensively in recent days" because he had a very high level of football expertise. On Tuesday, it will be proposed to include KHM in FC Bayern's supervisory board.

According to the report, the 67-year-old could join the supervisory board and support the Munich team in planning the squad for the coming season. Two years ago, Rummenigge had made way for Kahn at the head of the board.

FC Bayern in crisis despite Bundesliga title

Shortly after winning the eleventh championship title in a row, Bayern announced the separation of Kahn and Salihamidzic on Saturday. Among other things, they are accused of a misguided personnel policy in the composition of the team. Kahn's successor will be the current CFO Jan-Christian Dreesen, a new sporting director is still being sought.

From 2002 onwards, Rummenigge was chairman of the board of the Munich club for 19 years and, together with club patron Uli Hoeneß, led the club to numerous successes.
