Alkmaar vs PSV Eindhoven 2:1
After the surprise departure of coach Ruud van Nistelrooy, PSV knew they needed a point in the final round to secure second place. Xavi Simmons (65) put them ahead until Jesper Karlsson equalised in the 84th minute in what was a miss for the hosts as they tried to overtake Ajax on their way to third place, with fourth place securing only the Conference League for Alkmaar. Eindhoven secured victory in the final minute of extra time when Simmons burst superbly from the centre of the pitch, past the opponent's defence and scored the winning goal (90+8) that achieved the important goal for his team.

Twente vs Ajax 1:3
After 4 consecutive years, 4-time European champions and one of the top ever in European football, will see the Champions League from home and focus on the Europa League.
