Despite a convincing 4-0 win in Ampfing: SE Freising is relegated from the Landesliga after ten years

It wasn't enough. Because Dachau also scored three points at the same time, SE Freising was relegated to the Bezirksliga after a 4-0 win at TSV Ampfing.

Freising - They had already speculated a bit and hoped for support from Unterföhring. But by the time of the break, Lerchenfeld's hopes had already shrunk to a minimum: Dachau was already leading 2-0. And yet: The guests from the cathedral city did not give up and wanted to at least fulfill their part of the hopes of staying in the league.

Nevertheless, there were initially vague efforts before things got moving again shortly before the half-time whistle. Domagoj Tiric initially hit the crossbar, but the leather was still in the injury time of the first half. After a corner, Felix Günzel rose highest again and nodded in (45.+1).

And even though the Freisingers needed a miracle from Unterföhring for the second 45 minutes and the relegation was almost a done deal, the men of coach Flo Bittner did not give up. They showed what would have been possible with more consistency this season - namely at least staying in the league.

Once again, it was Felix Günzel who paved the way for victory after just over an hour and with his fifth goal in the second game - after a fine pass from Julian Kristo from the baseline (61st). Although at some point the news of the Unterföhringer follow-up goal leaked out, not much changed in the Freising game. The SEF already had the match under control anyway. And so the away win for Freising became clear in the end: After another pass from Kristo, substitute captain Florian Schmuckermeier first made it 3-0 (81st) before he scored just three minutes later with a powerful long-range shot from 20 meters to make it 4-0 (84th).

Of course, there was great disappointment afterwards, despite the successful final spurt with victories against Kirchheim and Ampfing. "We lost the season in the 32 games before," said player-coach Florian Bittner.

With a few exceptions, SE Freising had shown numerous weak games this year and had to learn the hard way in places. But the planning for the new beginning is already underway, many players have already confirmed for the district league. "We want to establish ourselves quickly in the new league and then come back soon," Bittner promised.
