Maccabi Haifa has been courting Laurent Abergel for a long time, and when talks were reported in France, green fans drew optimism from Instagram: the French-Jewish midfielder started following the champion's official account. Time passed, Abergel is not yet a Maccabi Haifa player and in the meantime he has also removed a follower. A sign of things to come?
After Lorient's game against Clermont on Saturday, Abergel was asked if he was continuing with the team and replied vaguely: "I hope so. I have a contract for two more years, I'm the captain of the team. We'll try to finish the season well and then we'll see."
By the way, Maccabi Tel Aviv was also mentioned as interested in Abergel, after trying to add him for the past two years and being refused.

Meanwhile, Maccabi Haifa still believes they will get the hot cucumber of early summer. The Greens understand that exhausting negotiations await them and have significantly upgraded their offer to Lorient to €1.5 million. According to sources familiar with the details, the Greens have also improved the offer of the French-Jewish connection in terms of wages by more than ten percent compared to the previous proposal.
