The turbulent season has left its mark on Bayern. The unclear situation may now cause uncertainty among some players.
Munich – Immediately after the dramatic season finale and the championship won, FC Bayern Munich is already focusing on the new season. The quake surrounding Bayern bosses Kahn and Salihamidzic could now also have an impact on the future of some players – including that of full-back Alphonso Davies, who is apparently flirting with a departure from Munich.

Bayern star Davies was already close to a contract extension – with the old bosses
The Canadian has been playing for the record champions since 2019. Although Davies has been out injured for some time now, he is usually a regular in the star ensemble and also a fan favourite with his open and humorous manner. Reason enough for former Munich officials Salihamidzic and Kahn to offer the 22-year-old, who supported his teammates in Bayern's decisive victory in Cologne from the sidelines and then celebrated the championship exuberantly, an extension of his contract, which expires in 2025.
According to Bild information, this extension of the contract was already as good as in the bag. Both sides, i.e. the former Bayern bosses and Davies and his advisor Nedal Huoseh, who has been in Munich for over two weeks, are said to have already agreed. The approaching signature of Davies, who had recently angered some Bayern fans with a party appearance at a music festival, was sealed with a handshake. Only "the last figures" had to be negotiated before the deal could have been finalized.

Is Davies leaving the record champions? "It's a chaotic time at FC Bayern right now," said his agent
However, this will probably not happen for the time being. According to Huoseh, the talks are now suspended for the time being. "It's a chaotic time at FC Bayern at the moment," the Davies agent told Bild, also naming the specific reason for the halt in negotiations: "I'm not sure what's going on and who we'll be dealing with," he said, expressing concern about the situation at the record champions. While Kahn's successor has already been found in Jan-Christian Dreesen, the position of sporting director is now vacant for the time being. Brazzo at Bayern could now inherit Eintracht sporting director Markus Krösche.
"There seems to be too much instability and uncertainty about the direction of the club," said Huoseh, who leaves on Wednesday without having accomplished anything, according to information from the paper, also with a view to the announcement of the expulsion of Kahn and Salihamidzic, which had not been planned by Bayern. "Maybe it's better if we wait until 2024 and see how things develop with the club before moving on to a new contract," he did not rule out a contract extension to the newspaper – but left the future of his protégé open.
Farewell to Munich? Top clubs from abroad interested in FCB star Davies
Bild is also bringing some clubs into play that Davies could join instead of another job in Munich. Accordingly, in addition to the English champions Manchester City, the foreign top clubs Real Madrid and Manchester United are interested in the Canadian.

And United probably doesn't just want to get Davies out of the Bavarian capital. Apparently, the Red Devils are flirting with the signing of another Bayern star alongside two clubs from the island. (wuc)
