The pressure did its job. The organizing committee of the Bali Beach Games 2023 and the Association of Olympic Committees announced on Tuesday morning the removal of 3-on-3 basketball, in which the Israeli team was supposed to participate.
Recently, Indonesian officials issued a series of statements that they would not allow Israel to enter the country and take part in the event. "Now it's certain that Israel won't participate, so there's no problem," Indonesian Sports and Youth Minister Daito Aryutejo said. "I haven't seen Israel's name on the lists, so there's no dispute about it and there won't be any objection anymore."
Bali Governor E Wian Koster was more emphatic when he issued a letter to the sports minister demanding that he not allow any blue and white teams: "We ask that the sports minister adopt a policy of suspending Israeli teams from participating in Bali province."
Officially, according to the organizers, the reason for the removal of the industry is an increase in the rental cost of the intended facility, and the failure to find an alternative facility that meets the standards, but apparently Indonesia decided to preempt a remedy for Mecca before it was decided to cancel the entire event as was done at the World Cup.

The event is scheduled to open on August 5 in Bali and will be attended by 1600 athletes from 130 countries. This is the second time the event will ever be held, after Qatar was the first to host the Beach Games in 2019, when Israeli athletes participated in climbing and open water but failed to qualify for the medal table.
