They are still in the Landesliga: ASV Dachau has achieved its minimum goal and secured its participation in the relegation relegation with a 3-1 win against Unterföhring.

Dachau – Shortly before 16 p.m., the soccer state league club ASV Dachau was allowed to celebrate. The Stadtwälder defended their 3th place with a 1-16 home win against FC Unterföhring on the last matchday. Direct relegation is thus prevented, relegation is achieved.

"Our first goal has been achieved," said a delighted coach Manuel Haupt. He continued: "Now we want to prevail in the relegation for the second year in a row." There it goes in the first round against the Lower Bavarian district league club DJK Vornbach. The first leg will take place on Thursday (18:30 CET) in Vornbach, the second leg on Sunday (16:<> CET) at the Sepp Helfer Stadium.

The starting position was unmistakable: ASV had to get at least one point against Unterföhring in order not to be dependent on the help of TSV Ampfing in their game against Eintracht Freising. "We had it in our own hands and didn't want to rely on anything," Haupt said. A good decision. "But we didn't look at the result in Ampfing for the time being," Haupt continued. The focus was on their own performance – and they were right.

The Dachauers played concentrated from the beginning and controlled the duel. The reward was the lead by Leon Schleich in the 17th minute. The midfielder scored after a corner from Maximilian Bergner to make it 1-0. Shortly before the break, Bergner himself was on the spot. First he won the ball, then he slammed the ball uncompromisingly into the left crease (41st). Unterföhring was well served with the 2:0. "Actually, it should be 4-0," Haupt was annoyed, but he could be satisfied, although competitor Freising led 1-0 at the same time.

The people of Dachau did not let up even after the change of sides. They controlled the duel and did not allow any dangerous finishes from the visitors – at least not out of the game. Nevertheless, the Unterföhringers made it exciting again because they have excellent free-kick takers in their team. One of them is Tayfun Arkadas. He converted one from 25 meters over the wall into the Kreuzeck (69th). Freising led 2-0 in the parallel game, but ASV still had everything under control. If another goal had been conceded, the big trembling would have begun, but it didn't fall.

Dimitrios Papadopoulos made it all clear in the 90th minute with a header from a Bergner corner. The score remained 3-1. When Haupt looked at his mobile phone after the final whistle, he saw that Freising had won 4-0 – but this victory was worth nothing in the end. "It's bitter for Freising to be relegated like this," Haupt felt with his former club. But more important to him, of course, was his own success. "Our victory was more than deserved. We're going into the relegation with a good feeling," said the ASV coach. The people of Dachau celebrated briefly. On Tuesday, the final training session is on the agenda before heading to Vornbach on Thursday. MORITZ STALTER
