The expulsion of Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic is the dominant topic at FC Bayern despite the championship. Now Verena Kerth speaks out.
Munich – A championship? Was there something? FC Bayern's surprising title was virtually marred at the final whistle and overshadowed by the Reds' personnel decisions. Hasan Salihamidzic and Oliver Kahn had to take their hats off. In the case of Brazzo, this was amicable, but in the case of Kahn, it was not at all. Since the weekend, the club and the ex-CEO have been engaged in a verbal mudslinging over the "how" of the expulsion. Many observers have already commented on the Bayern quake. Now Verena Kerth is also speaking out. Kahn's ex-partner is astonished by the treatment of the former goalkeeper.

Verena Kerth on Oliver Kahn's expulsion: "It made me speechless and sad"
Kerth told AZ: "When I learned of his immediate expulsion, I was completely amazed. But the fact that he wasn't even allowed into the stadium made me speechless and sad." Kerth complains about Bayern: "What was done to Oli here is inhuman and disrespectful. After all his achievements, he does not deserve such a thing. He has always given everything for the club. It's FC Bayern! Oli cannot and must not be treated like this. There's no style in that!" Dietmar Hamann had also described the expulsion as "impudence".
Kerth even makes the approach of the record champions almost doubt her loyalty as a supporter of the Isarstädter. "I've always been a Bayern fan, but I have to question myself now. I'll think about becoming a Dortmund fan," she says, but then adds: "No, it's fun, it won't get that far."

Kerth and the former world goalkeeper dated from 2003 to 2008. He has been married to Svenja Kahn since 2011. The presenter is dating singer Marc Terenzi. Most recently, Kerth was a contestant on the RTL show "Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus!" Meanwhile, Salihamidzic said goodbye with an emotional farewell speech. (cgsc)
