The facelift in Maccabi Tel Aviv's squad continues, and while there are still no new newcomers for next season, today (Tuesday) a new name was added to the list of those leaving - Daniel Tanenbaum. The Yellows announced that the co-goalkeeper would part ways with the club after seven years, during which he made 110 appearances in all competitions.

Following the farewell to the second goalkeeper, the Yellows are interested in Roy Mashpeti, who served as Maccabi Haifa's second goalkeeper this year. The Yellows have made him an offer to sign and he is seriously considering it. The 30-year-old goalkeeper came to the Greens two years ago from MS. Ashdod served as Josh Cohen's replacement during the two championship wins and even wore the first goalkeeper's vest while Cohen was absent for an extended period.

The 28-year-old Tanenbaum, who arrived in the summer of 2016 from Brazilian Flamengo, won two championships, the Israel State Cup, three Toto Cups and two Champions Cups with the Yellows. In the 2019/20 championship season, he broke an Israeli record when he kept a clean net for 1272 minutes - more than 13 games.

For two seasons (2019/20 and 2020/21) Tanenbaum was the team's senior goalkeeper with the sale of Predrag Rajkovic and the poor performance of his replacement Andreas Yaniotis, but at the start of the 2021/22 season he was injured and lost his place to Daniel Perez, who kept the first goalkeeper vest for the past two years.

The goalkeeper who ended his contract in Kiryat Shalom was mentioned as a candidate to come to MS. Ashdod, which also marked Ariel Harush and Arik Janco as possible replacements for Yoav Jarfi. In doing so, Tanenbaum joined a number of players who had already left at the end of their contracts such as Avi Ricken, André Geraldas and Maor Kandil, while Rareş Ilia returned to Nice at the end of his loan agreement.
