For many footballers, there were decisive games at the weekend, one was even supported and accompanied by an Olympic champion.
San Sebastian - A winter sports athlete has visited a compatriot in San Sebastian, who benefited from a defeat of the competition and will be allowed to play in the Champions League next season. Something that didn't happen in North Rhine-Westphalia. How would they have celebrated 1. FC Köln in Dortmund if they had managed to get a point or win against FC Bayern Munich on the last matchday of the 22/23 season? But then came Jamal Musiala and the state capital can celebrate another title. For San Sebastian, for example, the "Cologne phenomenon" has occurred.
Winter sports star Johannes Klaebo strolls through San Sebastian with Alexander Sörloth
The team from the north of Spain lost the game against Atletico Madrid, but pursuers Villarreal also dropped points against Rayo Vallecano. And now the Basques are in the premier class next season. Real Sociedad, as the team from San Sebastian is called, laid an important foundation stone in the English week with a victory against Almeria - and all this in front of the eyes of a winter sports legend, an Olympic champion.
Johannes Klaebo, who ran everything into the ground in cross-country skiing last season, uses his free time in the summer to visit his compatriot Alexander Sörloth and look at the beautiful city of San Sebastian. The attacker is on loan from RB Leipzig and has scored twelve goals this season. So his compatriot and overall World Cup winner in cross-country skiing saw an important game and the city. As several pictures show, the two of them take a leisurely stroll through San Sebastian and have fun having dinner with a glass of wine.
Victory against the great FC Barcelona: Sörloth even scores a goal
"A great time in San Sebastian," writes the Olympic sprint champion under his picture, who collected three gold medals at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2022 in addition to victory in Beijing 2023 and the overall World Cup. Did people in northern Spain recognize him? At least his buddy Sörloth should have caught the eye of some passers-by, not only because of his height of 1.95 meters. The giant shared the same photo, which also featured ex-cross-country skier Niklas Dyrhaug. The three ladies, Lena Selnes from Sörloth, Pernille Dosvik from Klaebo and Frida Martinsen, were also part of the excursion days.
Dosvik and Klaebo have been on a "long-awaited holiday together" for some time now. At the beginning of May, they were already in Marbella, shortly after Klaebo made headlines with a very collegial gesture. The tour group was then also in Barcelona, where they watched Sociedad's victory with Sörloth's goal (20 May) at reigning champions FC Barcelona at Camp Nou before travelling to the Norwegian's adopted home for the Almeria match (23 May).
