Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who is currently visiting Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, met Tuesday evening with Israel's taekwondo team, which is competing in the important world championships, on the way to the Olympic Games in Paris next year.
The meeting took place at the Heydar Aliyev Centre, where a special event was held to mark 75 years of the State of Israel. The president spoke with the athletes, especially interested in whether there were religious athletes in the delegation. The fighter, Nimrod Kravitsky, told him that he hoped to speak with the president after an achievement at the Olympic Games in Paris.
Later, the team was photographed with Herzog, while the president also tried his hand at kicking and wished the team good luck in the continuation of the competition.

Meanwhile, taekwondo fighter Dima Naguiev, competing in the under-58 kg weight category, lost his first fight at the World Championships in Baku 2:0 (13:6, 18:13) to an opponent from Taiwan and was eliminated from the competition.
