Highlights: French hopeful Luca Van Assche (82nd) won his first Grand Slam match on Monday, at the age of 19, two months after entering the top 100. 'It was super cool for me to play in front of them, from the beginning I felt comfortable, little by little I managed to free myself more and more and I had a very nice match,' says the 19-year-old. 'I stayed calm and serene from start to finish, I think that's why I manage to win in three sets. I hope to go much further'

It's my first final draw at Roland-Garros, obviously there is always a little pressure, I came back a little stressed, but I started very well. With the help of the public too, it's always much easier for us French to play here, it's always a huge strength, we are pushed from start to finish. It was super cool for me to play in front of them, from the beginning I felt comfortable, little by little I managed to free myself more and more and I had a very nice match. I stayed calm and serene from start to finish, I think that's why I managed to win in three sets. I hope to go much further. I really wanted to win my first Grand Slam match, here at Roland Garros (after his first-round loss at the Australian Open in January, editor's note), it's done. Now I aim much further.
