Lucas Pouille can thank his friend Pierre-Hugues Herbert. It was the latter who gave him a taste for tennis. Last October, the Alsatian offered him a shared training at the CNE of Roland-Garros. The rackets of the former world number 10 (March 2018) were then stored at the bottom of the garage for five months. Tennis, a distant memory. Undermined by injuries and low morale, Lucas Pouille had given up playing tennis: "Last spring, I had reached a point where I did not sleep at night. Sometimes I drank alone and I saw everything in black all the time, he confided to Le Figaro with an open heart two months ago. I told myself that it was not possible to continue like this. And I made the decision to say stop. I intended to announce my retirement. My entourage told me not to do it hot and not to close the door completely.
