Has a major breakthrough been achieved that will bring Leo Messi back into Barcelona's lap? On Wednesday evening, after the team held a farewell ceremony for Sergio Busquets, another legendary player, Spanish media reported that La Liga chiefs called Jorge Messi, Leo's father, and informed him that this deal would be approved in the coming days, at the latest by Monday.
Barcelona have provided documents to La Liga management, which they have reviewed and are still to approve them finally, but after it looked like Messi would eventually go to Saudi Arabia, now in Spain it is estimated that the chances of Messi returning to Barca have risen to 80 percent.

Jorge Messi has reportedly made it clear to the league chiefs that his son wants to return, but he only wants the financial security and approval for this move. Barcelona need to generate more revenue to meet Messi's salary terms and will therefore try to sell more players in the coming days, but it is now believed that the comeback is only a matter of time.

Incidentally, Messi was not at Busquets' farewell event at Camp Nou, but went on air during the ceremony and said: "It was a privilege to play with you, Bossy. I wish you and your family all the best. I'm sorry I didn't come to this special occasion for you, I love you very much."
