VfB tremble before relegation against HSV around goalkeeper Bredlow
It is still questionable whether goalkeeper Fabian Bredlow will be fit in the relegation first leg against HSV. If it does, it will be a "precision landing," said VfB coach Sebastian Hoeneß at the press conference. During the warm-up before the game against Hoffenheim, the keeper suffered a torn medial ligament in his knee, but held out for the game. After that, the injury developed to the negative, Hoeneß explained.
Dan-Axel Zagadou has overcome his foot pain and trained again for the first time on Tuesday. However, it will probably not be enough for the starting eleven in the first leg of the relegation.

VfB Stuttgart will be hoping for injured players Bredlow and Zagadou
Ahead of the relegation, VfB are worried about the use of goalkeeper Fabian Bredlow. Sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth told dpa: "It could be a precision landing with Fabian by Thursday." The keeper had injured his knee during the warm-up before the VfB match against TSG Hoffenheim (1-1), but had still played.

Meanwhile, Dan-Axel Zagadou was absent against TSG due to foot pain. Recently, however, the defender has made progress, so hopes of playing in the relegation first leg are justified. On Tuesday, both were on the training ground.

HSV: Jatta and Reis could play again after suspension against VfB
HSV coach Tim Walter had to do without Ludovit Reis (34th yellow card) and Bakery Jatta (yellow-red suspension) on Matchday 5 against SV Sandhausen. Laszlo Benes and Ransford Königsdörffer moved into the starting line-up for the two. In the relegation against VfB, however, Reis and Jatta are available again.
Although Hamburg narrowly missed out on direct promotion against Sandhausen last Sunday only due to Heidenheim's last-minute victory, coach Walter is looking forward to relegation in a positive way. There is a "now more than ever" atmosphere in his team, he said at the press conference. As usual, they were combative: "We will continue to fight, we will continue to step on the gas."
