The Euroleague champion knocked down the Eurocup champion. Madrid beat Gran Canaria for the second time in the quarterfinals of the ACB, this time with sweats until the end, and reached the semifinals of the League on the first occasion. They are 12 victories in a row for the whites, who will face Joventut, executioner of Baskonia, in the penultimate stage towards the title.
A three-pointer contest opened the duel. For the Canaries it was their main resource to pierce a tight white defense and high pressure. For the set of Chus Mateo also became a great asset to add to the power that inside marked Yabusele, superior in the body before Shurna, and Tavares. El Granca signed from the perimeter 12 of its first 16 points thanks to the wrist of Brussino, Benite and Balcerowski. Madrid, 12 of 19 with three bingos of Musa and another of Hanga. The meeting was moving at a great pace. Lakovic did not stop shaking the bench to maintain that level of pulsations (18-21).

Rudy joined the hammering from the triple, as did Slaughter in the yellows. All at three. Madrid had already handed the steering wheel to the illuminated Sergio Rodríguez, although Tavares' respite clouded the visitors in attack (28-24). Llull then appeared to show off sprinter's legs and Hezonja left drops of his talent as three disguised as four. The Gran Canaria held the pulse because Slaughter did not stop penetrating and Balcerowski multiplied on the two boards. The Pole blocked Llull, contained Tavares with his 2.17m under his hoop and still had strength to attack the rival basket: 37-39 at the intermission.
The match resumed with a partial of 0-7. Madrid pressed the accelerator and Granca sweated to hold the pace, victim of losses and without finding a crack to arm the arm. From a timeout emerged the locals revived by the shots of Shurna and Slaughter (43-48), and by the fight of Inglis and Diop against Yabusele and Tavares. The yellow fever returned the tie to a very lively duel (52-52), always agitated by the gunner Musa. A steal and triple on the horn of Chacho signed a very juicy white harness (56-67).

Sergio Rodríguez Territory. The point guard had the game in his brain. Two three-pointers from Chacho and his mastery of managing the clock hit a new stretch (61-77). History seemed written when the home team attacked the heart of the enemy, the area where Tavares lives, and with the points in the paint and a huge faith in the rebound wrote a 15-0. The match returned to the beginning (79-79). It emerged, who else, Llull, the hero of the Euroleague, for the last thrust.
