The reciprocal match of the women's water polo playoff final took place Wednesday evening at the National Pool at the Wingate Institute. Hapoel Yokneam defeated ASA Tel Aviv 2:10 to win the championship for the eighth time in its history, with all eight of its championships achieved in the last decade.
Hapoel Yokneam captain Shunit Strogo concluded: "I'm happy that I'm standing here with an eighth championship. It was a very difficult season, maybe the hardest we've had in recent years. We had a very limited squad, quite a few players left us in recent years for teams in Europe and the United States, and we started this year with a lot of difficulty.
"I think in the final we managed to get our best. Those were our two best games this season. We played for each other and fought in the water, including the young players."
