End of story! A long, beautiful and rich history. This Thursday afternoon, Amandine Henry announced on her social networks "[her] departure from OL". Olympique Lyonnais, a club with which the 33-year-old has built a prestigious record with, in particular, 13 France championship titles, 7 France Cups and, above all, 7 Champions Leagues.
"Dear OL Women's Fans and Supporters," she wrote in the statement. After 15 years at this incredible club, it is with great emotion that I announce today my departure from OL. It was an honour for me to have been able to play under these colours and to have been part of this incredible family that is Olympique Lyonnais. I am grateful to my teammates, the coaches, the staff, the management and especially to you, the fans, who have been a constant source of support and inspiration. A message accompanied by heart emoticons.

Injured in the left knee on March 4 against Reims in the quarterfinals of the Coupe de France (2-2, 8-7 at the t.a.b.), the player had not returned to the field since this match. It was therefore from the stands that she had witnessed the victory in the Coupe de France and then the championship coronation of her partners.
The number 6 was for several weeks at the heart of an imbroglio with his club. The latter had not granted a release voucher to the player, at the end of her contract at the end of the season, who wanted to join this spring the American franchise of Angel City in Los Angeles for a contract of three and a half years. "Sportingly, I cannot release Amandine: in the big events, she has always been present. I shoot myself in the foot if I let her go," coach Sonia Bompastor said at the time.
Thank you for everything @amandinehenry6!
We wish you a very good continuation for the rest of your career. ❤💙

The announcement of Henry's departure, a few weeks after that of Jean-Michel Aulas, marks the end of a golden period for OL. Excluded from the France team due to a conflict with former coach Corinne Diacre, Amandine Henry could - depending on her recovery - return to Hervé Renard's France team this summer to play the World Cup in Australia (July 20 - August 20).
