In the first leg of the first relegation round of the Landesliga Südost, VfB Forstinning has the upper hand against strong district league side FC Dingolfing away with 2:1 goals.

Dingolfing – The first of four steps towards remaining in the Landesliga Südost has been completed. With a clever performance, VfB Forstinning won the first relegation match with 2:1 goals at the Lower Bavarian district league representative and thus created an excellent starting position for the second leg on Sunday at 16 p.m. at the Forstinninger Sportpark.

The game started 15 minutes late due to the enormous crowd of spectators. Around 762 spectators gathered in the venerable Isar Wald Stadium and watched a fast-paced game right from the start.

At Forstinning, department head Thomas Herndl coached together with captains Korbinian Hollerieth and Matthias Hirt, due to the absence of coaches Ivica Coric and Hizir Tasci due to vacation. And the Forstinninger bench was allowed to celebrate in the 16th minute. After a fixed attacking move down the right flank, Dominik Damjanovic found himself free and finished with a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area. Dingolfing's goalkeeper Bogdan Hodoroaba saved the ball with great difficulty, but too short for Forstinning's fast-reacting attacker Mohamed Al Hosaini.

But the reaction of the hosts followed promptly. Rinos Bajraktari scored from a central position in the penalty area after a long wandering ball to make it 1-1 (20th). Again shortly afterwards, Al Hosaini rushed alone towards the Dingolfinger goal, but lobbed over the keeper and next to the goal. From the 30th minute of the game, Dingolfing pushed harder for the VfB goal and created several opportunities, but without countable success.

The second half began with a top-class goal for the home team, but Jonas Hoffman missed the 2-1.

Dominik Damjanovic, much more present than recently, came into play through a scrambled ball from a Dingolfing defender, scored after a simple double pass with the inside to make it 1-2 and put the entire stadium in silence (81st). Coach Florian Baumgartl's team had to gather for a short time, but then tried to equalize again. But in vain. Forstinning confidently played home the important first leg victory.

"We had enough chances and dealt with them extensively. Forstinning played efficiently and confidently at the back in the second half." Dingolfing's deputy, Klaus Kramlofsky, mourned the missed opportunities, but acknowledged the VfB victory.
