Tuchel phone call and meeting in London: FC Bayern is serious about Declan Rice's transfer poker
Thomas Tuchel is said to have already spoken on the phone with Declan Rice and made a move to Munich palatable to the West Ham United captain, as the TV channel Sky reported on Monday. Tuchel was once coach of London city rivals Chelsea FC and therefore knows the 24-year-old.
But that's not all, it apparently didn't stop at a phone call. According to tz info, Tuchel met with Rice in London last week. Interestingly, the dismissed sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic and technical director Marco Neppe, who faces an uncertain future at FC Bayern, were also present.

It was not initially known how far the talks between FC Bayern, Tuchel and Rice have progressed. The extent to which Salihamidzic's dismissal will have an impact on Rice's decision is also unclear. The fact is that the England international will be expensive and Bayern have solvent competition.
Rice still has a contract with West Ham United until 2024, which can probably be extended until 2025. The high transfer fee for Tuchel's desired player is causing problems for FC Bayern, with more than 100 million euros in the room. Sums exceeding 20 million must be approved by FC Bayern's supervisory board, which meets at its regular meeting on Tuesday (30 May).
Tuchel has to convince the desired player Rice - also with the Bayern bosses
As the English Mirror recently reported, Rice is leaning towards a move within England and prefers Arsenal FC. The Gunners are apparently ready to meet the high transfer demands. Tuchel's former club Chelsea and Manchester United are also said to be interested in the midfielder, and Bayern fans may be hoped for Rice greetings on German.

Tuchel will probably have to do a lot of convincing for his desired transfer Rice, both in talks with the player himself and with the new management team at FC Bayern. Meanwhile, a first Bayern star is probably thinking about saying goodbye after "a chaotic time". (ck)
