A new case of racism in football. The Brazilian Federation (CBF) on Wednesday denounced racist insults that targeted one of its players on social networks during the Under-20 World Cup in Argentina, adding that it would transmit the evidence to justice and FIFA.
On the pitch, Brazil clinched its ticket to the quarter-finals of the event in the evening by beating Tunisia 4-1 at the Diego Maradona stadium in La Plata, near Buenos Aires. His defender Robert Renan, however, was excluded and, booed by the mainly Argentine public, responded by pointing to the five fingers of the hand, in an allusion to the number of World Cups won by the Seleçao. Argentina, with whom the sporting rivalry is strong, has won only three.
Subsequently, he "was the victim of racist attacks" on social networks, the CBF said in a statement. The perpetrators of these insults have been "identified" and the evidence will be transmitted to the Argentine justice as well as to the International Federation (Fifa), accompanied by a request for sanctions, she added.
Another case of racism, this time in Argentina. 😒🤮
Robert Renan, U20 player from Brazil, was excluded against Tunisia in the 8th finals of the CDM U20. He was booed by Argentine fans on the scene.

If the CBF did not specify in its statement the insults suffered by Robert Renan, the 19-year-old player published on his Instagram account screenshots containing offensive messages or even monkey emojis.
Last month, the Brazilian Federation strongly denounced the racist insults suffered by Real Madrid striker Vinicius Jr during a Spanish league match in Valencia, an incident that sparked strong condemnation around the world.
