Red Star Belgrade is in turmoil following what is already described in the Serbian media as the "Barak Behar Revolution". The new coach has already informed goalkeeper and captain Milan Burian that he is not in the plans for next season, and reportedly sent a similar message to winger Alexander Katay, the "prince of the fans" and considered the undisputed star of the team.
Katai, who produced the most goals for Red Star last season (goals and assists), may move to the UAE after realising that Behar was designating a secondary role for him, and after the Israeli coach made it clear to him that he was not destined to be a player in the Champions League.
Serbia is raising eyebrows at Behar's decisions. Veteran coach Milorad Kusanovic, who has coached Red Star in two different spells in the past, spoke out against Behar's moves on Friday morning.
"Milan Burian and Alexandre Katay are certainly not the Red Star's problem. Is it precisely on them that Bachar was caught? They both did their job last season without any special complaints about them," Kusanovic said, "Behar is not acting alone anyway, he gets permission from the management to take such steps. At the end it will be tested in the test of the result. If it succeeds, he will receive compliments. If this turns out to be a mistake, he will be forced to take responsibility. This is the life of a coach."

At the same time, Kusanovic understands why Behar wants to revolutionize the squad. "Behar started aggressively because he wants to rebuild the team. I get it. Red Star definitely needs to strengthen if they want to achieve anything in the Champions League. The current team does not have enough quality to compete with the best teams in Europe, there is no doubt about the need to inject new blood into the team. The question is how, how much and why."
